Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM)

Every year, we find a way to bring inclusion to the forefront of our community during the month of March.

In 2021, we screened and discussed Including Samuel and I Am Here; Hear Me Bark, with Pamela Schuller.

Inclusion

Temple Ner Tamid is welcoming to people of all abilities, and is a place where people’s diverse and unique needs are acknowledged and served. Our Inclusion committee, which meets bi-monthly, grew out of a yearlong program made possible through a grant provided by Greater Metrowest’s ABLE. The Synagogue Inclusion Project helped us articulate our goals and energize us into action. We believe that inclusively is possible for ALL of our members and that everyone should have full access to every aspect of their Jewish life.

We strive to be honest about who we are and how our practices, traditions, and policies may need to be reevaluated as the landscape of our community’s needs evolve.

We invite anyone who would like to continue to work on actionable and meaningful change in the synagogue’s physical building, as well as aspirational hopes in education and temple policies, to reach out inclusion {at} nertamid.org and join us!
