REGISTER NOW FOR THE 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR!
Welcome from Arlene Sherman, Shoresh Director

As a preschool educator I feel priviledged to work with children and parents in the beginning, opening doors to the future and helping children experience their first educational adventures.
Each school year is a new beginning for our children, a first step in an educational process that helps them to move toward their potential, discovering who they are and how to relate to others. It is a first step in developing skills - skills that will be nurtured over the course of the school year.
You get one chance to create a good beginning and form a positive foundation for your children to grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically and Jewishly. With a close partnership between home and school the possibilities are endless.
Our preschool is appropriately named Shoresh - the Hebrew word for roots. Establishing roots helps to build the foundation upon which children can grow and flourish.
Come and visit the Shoresh Preschool at Temple Ner Tamid. It will be my pleasure to give you a tour and tell you about our NAEYC accredited program.
About the Shoresh Preschool of Temple Ner Tamid

Our professionaly staffed preschool offers a variety of programs for children 15 months to five years of age in both morning and afternoon classes. The innovative hands-on learning includes a rich mix of linguistic, numerical and cognitive skill-building tools in a warm and caring environment. The curriculum includes art, music, dance, computer instruction, science and nature. It promotes academic and creative growth in a fun-filled setting. Our Mommy and Me program caters to our youngest population and provides them with age appropriate activities that will transition the children into our two year old program. Judaism is integrated throughout our program. We celebrate the Jewish holidays and Shabbat, and instill Jewish pride and a sense of history, laying the groundwork for an understanding of Judaism.
The student body of Shoresh is diversified in both religion and race, with children from Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, Montclair and surrounding communities attending. Individualized attention is made possible by our small class sizes and low teacher/student ratio. This allows each child to develop in a comfortable and nurturing setting.
Shoresh is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. This means that we have demonstrated the best in quality programs for young children and their families. We will continue to maintain these standards at Shoresh and look forward to an exciting new school year.
