It can hardly be argued that the most uplifting and dramatic worship experience is the ten day period encompassing the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Temple Ner Tamid observes two days of Rosh Hashanah. Because of space limitations, attendance to the High Holy Day services on the first morning of Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur morning require a ticket. All other services—Erev Rosh Hashanah, second morning Rosh Hashanah, and Yom Kippur afternoon services [Yizkor, Minchah and Ne’ilah]—are open to the public.

In addition to the regular sanctuary services for these Days of Awe, there are several alternatives available for both young and not so young. For children, babysitting is available for infants and toddlers, a High Holy Day experiential center is open for children ages 5-7, and our creative “B’yachad” family service is held for adults and their children who are in grades 3-6. Services for families with very small children are held on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur afternoons at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.
